Ok, I will happily agree that, I too, almost puked when seeing the advertisements for the new film 'Remember Me'. Featuring that dude, Robert Patterson, that everyone seems to cream over these days, the posters include a loving head touched couple which I would have bet my whole savings (all 40 pence of it) that it was a major girly, all seen before, shitass film. So... when my friend, a lover of ol'Rob, suggested a night at the pics she caught me in a moment of pure 'want-to-get-out-my-house-so-I'll-do-anything-even-if-I-feel-sick-after' mood. I had not seen trailers, and yes, I judged the film, just like I judge Marmite- I didn't want to try it, it looked yucky.
I am a new person, I must be, because this film is quite amazing.
Well, amazing..... it's a good good good film. Everyone should go.
I'm not going to tell you any details, because it's the pure unexpectedness that makes it so great. However, it feels raw, very believable, insightful, almost like everyones life... maybe with a little added shit on the side. But, at least this whole Hollywood crap of perfect fairy tales and those girls who will go through the world nearly ending and still not have a hair out of place, is no where to be found. Robert looks dirty (which is worth an erection on it's own) and the girl isn't actually amazingly stunning and plastic. A breath of fresh air and a film for all. Sensitivity in film is evident.
Yes. See.
See, I made the very same assumption you did on this; chick-movie, romance, somehow making it through the most disasterous thing that could possibly happen blah crap. But for the fact I have been put off Patterson's acting skillz for Twilight.
ReplyDeleteSince you have seen this film, would you say that his acting is more to do with Twilights terrible writing, or is he just a bad actor? Or even possibly, a good actor who just acts a bad character :P
Well, I didnt think he was terrible in Twilight. But he also wasn't terribly amazing. In this film, I'm not sure I can fault him. I completely and utterly believed his emotions, actions and felt raw compassion for him.
ReplyDeleteTwilights an amateur film, a junior who made it big and started a craze so I wouldn't say you are wrong to possibly point the finger at the vampire screen.
He's getting better, I think.
